Private schools’ charity status also seems to offers them the opportunity to be untransparent and unaccountable, even to the community they serve. The implication that private schools’ authorities cannot work effectively unless they are granted secrecy raises big concerns and not just about money laundering. Private schools are also not obliged to respond to freedom of information requests.
